That's Amore!
Who doesn't love a great pizza? No American I know {hee, hee}!
This little winner was given to me by my mom-in-law, and it is wonderful!
So without further ado.........
Pizza Dough
Mix and let stand for 5 minutes:
2 c. lukewarm water
2 Tbsp. yeast
2 tsp. sugar
After 5 minutes, stir in:
2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. oil (your preference, but we love olive)
Mix in 4 1/2 - 5 c. all-purpose flour until smoorh, then use 1 c. to knead in. Let stand 10 minutes. Divide in half. Roll out and place on greased cookie sheet. Add desired toppings. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
Makes enough for two pizzas.
During the last few minutes of bake time I brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle on a little garlic salt or spice mix to give a little extra oomph!
In the last few years, pizza has started to become popular in Ghana. One of the stranger toppings they use there is canned ham.
Do they eat pizza where you live? What's the most interesting topping you've heard of? We'd love to know!
Refried beans, jalapenos, and chorizo!
