Anniversary Giveaway #10 - A Gift Box from America!

What would you want in this box?!

1. To enter, just post a favorite verse that has encouraged you on the field, along with the one thing you would love to find in a package from America (If you are Canadian or Australian...I'll see what I can do about Maple Syrup or Vegemite.)

2. This is intended for overseas missionaries, but EVERYONE is encouraged participate: home missionaries, pre-field missionaries, furlough missionaries, or missionaries who may already get weekly packages from the US (yeah, right!). If you win, and are not "overseas" you may select ANY other missionary in this group to pass your blessing along to. So don't be modest, PARTICIPATE in the fun.

3. The winner will submit a wish list of grocery and personal items (no ministry!) that would fit in a large priority mail box.

This gift is being generously donated by a stateside missionary who would like to remain anonymous.  Thanks Mrs. Anonymous!

  1. Psalm 18:30, "As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For me, this verse says it all - it reminds me that God knows what He is doing, even when I don't. It reminds me that His Word never fails, and that I can run to Him as His daughter at any moment!

  3. So many verses to choose from but I have to come back to my life verses which have sustained us through so many choices--Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Thank you ahead of time for whomever and from whomever who has given such a special gift from the States! God bless you!

  7. 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." When I feel inadequate--most of the time, and especially when the task is lots bigger than I am--I know that the Lord has called me, and He will do it. Total reliance on Him.

Dream box? Would have to have a good Christian book in it or a new Bible study. :o) I also love something for the home, like a couple of place mats, or a pretty hand towel or kitchen towel.

  8. Matthew 10:16 has been a help and a good reminder to me in working to reach lost souls on the mission field. In both parts of the verse, it is very applicable to the life of a missionary. We are sent forth as sheep in the midst of wolves - reaching the lost is not an easy task. In the second half of the verse it gives us good advice as to how we should serve and present Jesus Christ to the unsaved - being wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

  9. Psalm 34:8 is the verse that has gotten me through many a rough day ~ O taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. And as far as a box goes ~ I'm craving peanut butter Oreos and real maple syrup :)
Thanks for such a thoughtful giveaway!

  12. I've only ever been a short term missionary. And our family verse this summer was Galations 6:9-10. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

For me, since I had my small child with me, it meant I had the opportunity to bless the other people on the mission trip with me. If I won, I would donate the box to one of our long term single missionaries on the field.
