This is the true story of a young American missionary woman courage and triumph of faith in the jungles of New Guinea and her four years in a notorious Japanese prison camp. Never to see her husband again, she was forced to sign a confession to a crime she did not commit and face the executioner's sword, only to be miraculously spared.
This giveaway is for one copy of Evidence Not Seen. This is my favourite missionary biography!

Nahum 1:7 got me through my Dad's sudden death. That verse was my morning devotion. It was on January 6th, the anniversary of our miscarriage as well as the anniversary of the death in Afganistan of a kid we taught in Sunday school. When I read the verse that morning, I thought it was comfort for reflecting on the past and how He got us through it... Turns out it was for later that day. Oh precious is His Word! "The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."
I won't enter to win this because I already have a copy, but it is a wonderful book...one of my all-time favorites. If you don't win it, I would recommend buying it.
Favorite (well, one of many!)verse that helps me in hard times is my life verse - I Thes. 5:24 which says, "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it."
It sounds like a wonderful book! I'm entering to win it if a comment here counts as an entry.
Romans 8:38-39 Nothing can separate me from God's Love! No matter what storm is raging through or what fiery trial we happen to be going through, God's love is ever near and Oh! What a comfort that is!
"For I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel." Phil. 1:12
Proverbs 3:5-6
My 16 year-old daughter and I love to read missionary stories. She also reads a lot of them for book reports for home school. I have never read this book, so even if I don't win it, I will definitely order it. Thanks for telling us about it! Proverbs 3:5 & 6
Psalm 61:1-2
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
I heard her story years and years ago and would LOVE to read this book!
"When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
One of my favorites as well!
Isaiah 43:2 Thanks for the giveaway.
"Lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the earth"-- He never leaves us...simply a precious promise forever!
I've heard her testimony on cassette when I was younger. So good!
I would love to read this book!
Oh, a favorite verse...Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto think own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths. Prov. 3:5-6
Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
The verses that get me through the difficult times are Philippians 4:4-7. If we do our part, He gives us that peace that passeth all understanding.
Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Deut. 31:6,8 ; Ps. 18:2;
Psalm 37:4-5
Psalm 31:24 "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." Saw this in church today and it blessed my soul...so glad that when I wait and hope in the Lord He strengthens my feeble <3. :)
